Stark statement that Jimbo!
Especially as we are less than two weeks into the New Year.
But let me ask you this....did you have a New Year Resolution, and more importantly are you still on track with it?
You see, the majority of targets that we have at the start of a New Year will only be pipe dreams as we focus on the two wrong things....
- The fact that the year ends with a new number will make it different to the past year
- That we are just focusing on the end goal (for most) and not the pathway to get there
For anyone who knows me well, you would say that I on the larger side - I would have say the word f*t.
Well I was in July last year.
So I decided there and then to do something about it.
I was 19 and a half stone, and at 47 years old, that wasn't a good thing.
So I chose to do something - not wait for Jan 1.
I decided to make each day a day to stop drinking alcohol, eat less, move more and track what I was doing.
And now, without the need for a New Year Revolution I am now almost 15 stone, haven't had any alcohol for six months and feel, as Tony the Tiger would say,
GGGRRRRREEEEEEAAAAAAAATTTT!!
But what does this mean for business you might ask?
Well it is about setting the right targets, having a plan to get there, and doing small things consistently - whatever time of year.
So if you want to grow your audience, be more present, more consistent.
If you want to improve your customer service, look at every single customer interaction.
If you want to convert more leads, really think about your funnel and what you do with your prospect engagement.
You see, small things when added together make a huge impact.
It is about creating and fulfilling habits.
If you want some help with this, check out James Clear's book, Atomic Habits (link here for ease) as this has helped me to really get where I am over the last six months.
