One of the biggest challengers that our clients present to us is not having enough time to do the things they need toto move their business forward. And while this has some degree of truth the to do list will never be completed!) realising what is going on with your time management is key to your success.
You see there are several mistakes that we see regularly with all types of business owners - including those with seven and eight figure companies.
It appears that there is no immunity pill!
So what are these mistakes? Let's explore them now.
1) Letting others dictate your agenda or schedule
You see that you are only as effective as you can be working on what you want to at the time you want to in the way you want to. Imagine if I told you know when you could and should work (assuming your response to me was polite!!) - this wouldn't increase your productivity or improve your output.
2) Accepting (and encouraging) "Time Vampires"
Yes, we all get interruptors and we need to reduce these to a minimum by controlling our time and space. If people want to see you, get them to book an appointment when it suits you. If you are regularly interrupted by your accounts clerk throughout the morning with three minute requests for help, explain that all requests have to be delivered within a set time frame.
3) Don't be fearful to be stand offish
Unless you are a one person business, ensure that all prospect and customer questions and requests can be dealt with by others in your team. You should only be there to advise and sign off.
4) Not having targets
Hold yourself accountable to a number or numbers - this focuses the mind on one key thing! If you don't do this you will drift and others will see the opportunity to interrupt as it "doesn't matter."
So let's not fall into this situation - get your time back, say no, and stop letting interruptions ruin your potential to be more successful.
