I once worked with a brilliant consultant who was exhausted.
They were trying to post on LinkedIn every day, grow an Instagram following, test Facebook ads, dabble on YouTube, run a podcast, and squeeze in email newsletters.
But nothing was working properly.
They weren’t lazy. Far from it. They were just spread so thin that no one could see them clearly. Their energy was going into everything… but not enough into anything.
So we made a decision.
We shut down everything except LinkedIn and a monthly email to their list.
The result?
Engagement shot up. Inbound leads started landing. And most importantly—they felt like they had their brain back.
The thing is, we’ve been conditioned to think that visibility equals success. But that’s only true if you’re showing up where your actual audience spends their time.
Being everywhere is exhausting.
Being effective is energising.
Sometimes the smartest move is subtraction.
